Thousands of visitors came to the Gun and knife Show at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau last weekend. Included in the mix of shotguns and rifles was Candidate for 8th district Congress Bob Parker, the rancher from Raymondville.

Parker, his wife Karen and several supporters handed out literature and bumper stickers while explaining that no one supports the second amendment and the right to keep and bear arms more than Parker. Parker explains, ''It's about our freedom and our rights to protect our freedoms and our families.''

''I am a hunter and a shooter but the second amendment is the very teeth of our liberty. We must never give up our rights to keep and bear arms.''

Parker was also one of the candidates speaking at the Cape County Lincoln days last Saturday night to a crowd of about 320 people.
