Myra Walden, MA, LCPC, is presenting a Nonviolent Communication (NVC) workshop, "Empowering Communication: Increasing Efficacy in the Helping Professions" this Friday, April 16 at Semo Alliance for Disability Independence (1213 Rusmar, Cape Girardeau, MO). NVC is used worldwide in education, counseling, and conflict resolution. Friday's workshop (9:00am-4:30pm) is $70 and advanced registration is advised as seating is limited.

NVC was created by clinical psychologist and international peacemaker Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, whose work is now supported and promoted by the global Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC). NVC, also called Compassionate Communication, is based on a set of learnable, doable skills focused on 4 key concepts: observations, feelings, needs and requests.
