My Birthday Wish!

Hi, my name is Hunter Miller and I will turn 11 on May 27, 2010. I have a great love for animals and it bothers me that lots of animals are killed every day due to violence and owners who do not take care of them. Many animals are turned over to local humane societies and it is their job to try and find good homes for these animals. These humane societies are run from donations and many people who volunteer their time and efforts to make sure as many animals are saved as possible. Without donations many more animals would be killed daily and I have an issue with this. For these reasons I have chosen to do whatever I can to help the local humane society to try and save as many animals as possible.

Instead of birthday presents this year I am asking for everyone to donate anything they can to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri. Some very important items that they really need that people do not think about are liquid bleach, liquid laundry detergent, and lemon pine-sol. They currently use 12 gallons of bleach each week scrubbing floors and walls and they bleach and wash 7 to 10 loads of blankets, beds and towels every single day. Other important items that are needed are dry kitten chow, paper towels, toilet paper, and copy paper for adoption records. Money and Walmart gift cards are also beneficial to the humane society.

On Saturday, May 22 I will be at the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri from 8 am until 10 am collecting donations of the above items instead of birthday presents as my gift to them. Even if I can help them save just 1 animal it's a step in the right direction. If you are able to stop by and just drop any of these items off I would greatly appreciate it, as will they. Even if you are unable to help with donating items or money you can still help by taking care of your animals and having your pet spayed or neutered to try and help control the pet overpopulation and the number of unnecessary euthanasia's.

I look forward to seeing each of you on May 22 sometime between 8 am and 10 am!
