The Annual Church Women United (CWU) Nursing Scholarship was presented to Tiffany Merritt on Friday evening at the May Friendship Day Celebration, a dinner meeting hosted by the ladies of Grace United Methodist Church. Ms Merritt is a Practical Nursing student at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center and plans to pursue a Registered Nursing Degree as well. Each Year the local CWU chapter awards a $500. scholarship to a female nursing student with financial needs and a sincere desire to become self-supporting. Doris Ford presented the award. Others members of the selection committee were Shirley Hutton and Ruth Needle, chair.

During the evening meeting, Cathy Bollis, of Aging Matters, spoke of caregivers and related stressors, and supports available to caregivers of all ages.

Church Women United is an ecumenical organization composed of women from many local churches who work together in a one community of prayer, advocacy and service.
