McDonald's on William Street hosted a Salvation Army Night on Dec. 21. McDonalds donated 25% of all proceeds between 4-8pm to The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is about 93.39% of their goal of $320,000 for 2010. Last years goal of $311,000 was reached on Jan. 16. The Salvation Army is still accepting donations towards the goal in the mail to, The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 802, Cape Girardeau, MO 63702 and at The Salvation Army on 701 Good Hope St. from 9am until noon and again from 1pm until 4pm Monday thur Friday. The funds raised will help our area in Disaster Relief, Meals With Friends Program, Thanksgiving Day Meals, Food Pantry Program, Christmas Baskets, Youth Programs, Senior Citizens Programs, and The Basic Needs Program. Accepting the check on behalf of the Salvation Army was Major Benjamin Stillwell and presenting the check on behalf of McDonalds was Cheryl Farrow.
