The Wind Symphony and Jazz Band of Lutheran High School South, St. Louis will perform a concert at Saxony Lutheran High School on Friday, March 8 at 7:00 pm. The school is located at 2004 Saxony Drive, Jackson, MO.
The Wind Symphony and Jazz Band of Lutheran High School South, St. Louis, under the direction of John W. Miller and Matthew C. Janssen, are on their annual spring tour which this year brings the groups to Jackson, MO and New Orleans, LA. Previous tours have taken the Lutheran South bands through many states including Arkansas, Indiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Illinois, Floriday, California, Washington D.C., Texas, and Nevada.
The 64 member Wind Symphony will perform works such as "Mars" from The Planets by Gustav Holst, The Thunderer by John Philip Sousa, and a medley of music from Star Wars by John Williams. The Lutheran South Jazz Band will perform the sounds of jazz greats Sammy Nestico, Duke Ellington, George & Ira Gershwin, as well as music by our featured vocalist.
There will be a wide variety of music to please many different musical tastes. A free will donation will be accepted.
