The Lamplighter's FCE met January 16 at the New Salem United Methodist Church in Daisy for a workday and business meeting. Nine members made chair covers for the elementary children of Oak Ridge R-6 elementary school. Hostess Karen McLane provided lunch for the ladies.
President Jo Ann Hahs was declared "Queen for a Day". Wearing a tiara and a cape, she answered questions about her life, and was presented with gifts by the emcee, Linda Sebaugh.
Karen McLane offered a devotion--"Extreme Makeover, Attitude Edition" Members responded to the roll call by sharing an elementary school memory.
Jo Ann Hahs gave an initial reading of the Lamplighter's by-laws for 2014. She also led the members in reading through the new club book, noting upcoming events/activities.
Dorothy Hahs, Jo Ann Hahs, and Jackie Kurre will attend the Spring leader training on April 14.
Lamplighters will join other county FCE members at 9:00 am on February 11, to work on blankets for autistic children. Work will be done in the Extension Building in Jackson, MO. Blankets are then donated to Touchpoint in Cape Girardeau.
