LaCroix United Methodist Church Donates Water Purification System to Amen Center
The LaCroix UMC church has an outreach for improving water systems both overseas and in this country. They have recently helped the Amen Center resolve a serious well water problem. The Amen Center, located on Route N five miles west of Delta, is a Christian Based inter-denominational crisis and restoration center.
Like a lot of wells in the Delta area, the well water's high concentrations of sulfur and iron resulted in it being undesirable for drinking and also somewhat odorous for showering. Drinking water had to be brought in from an outside source. The LaCroix UMC church generously donated funds for equipment to purify the water - thereby eliminating the need for a very expensive new well. Many thanks are due to Senior Pastor Ronald Watts, Mike Litz, Justin Kertz and all the members of LaCroix UMC church for blessing the Amen Center.
A group from the church will visit the Amen Center on Thursday, January 29, to dedicate and "Christen" the new water purification system.
