Twenty-one Retiring Jackson R2 staff members were honored for their years of service to the school district at a reception in the Jackson Middle School cafeteria on Tuesday, May 12 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Friends, relatives and other district employees spoke on behalf of each retiree. Jackson CTA (Community Teachers Association), administrative assistants and district administrators organized this event. Cards were collected and each retiree received a gift.
The following people are retiring from their current positions at Jackson R2: Bus drivers, Alice Ahrens and Charles Ahrens; Paraprofessionals, Beverly Banks and Donna Rushing; Food service, Barbara Slinkard and Nancy Evans; Secretary, Carolyn Smith; Principal, David Gross; Librarian, Mary Pensel; Custodian, Gary Wendel; and teachers: Francis Dooley, Jean Gibbs, Denise Glastetter, Barb Chenoweth, Jan Guth, Carol Keen, Chris Ludwig, Betty Meyer, Kathy Schmid, Karen Shelby and Christine Warren.
