Jackson, MO. - More than 8,000 of America's best and brightest youth traveled to the historic city of San Antonio to showcase their talents as future business leaders. Eleven Jackson students and two advisers from Jackson High School represented the state of Missouri at the 2012 Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL), the largest and oldest student business organization, held its National Leadership Conference in San Antonio on June 29--July 2. Participants from across the United States and two countries were in attendance for this exciting conference to sharpen their core business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 55 business and business-related competitive events.

The eleven Jackson students that qualified to attend are Kathy Scienski, Katie Garner, Ray Hecht, Stetson Tuschhoff, Celeste Bolen, Nicholas Fosse, Grant Gahm, Melissa Stephens, Allison Gribler, Ian Roberts, and Jacob Meadows. These students qualified at the State level in various events to compete at the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio. Scienski and Gribler qualified and competed in American Enterprise Project; Garner and Stephens in Partnership With Business Project; Hecht and Roberts in Business Plan, Bolen, Fosse, and Meadows in Banking & Financial Systems; Tuschhoff in Computer Problem Solving; and Gahm in Help Desk.

The competition was part of a comprehensive national competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. In addition to the competitions, the 8300 delegates to the 60th annual conference immersed themselves in business and leadership workshops, elected national student officers, visited an information-packed exhibit hall, and attended motivational keynotes on a broad range of business topics.
