Jackson Art Group holds Plein Air Festival

Instead of a second Saturday gallery reception for a featured artist, Jackson Art Group will hold a plein air event at the St. Louis Iron Mountain Railway from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. All ages are invited to participate and there will be prizes too! There will be a kid's art table for ages 0-18. Children participating in the art contest for their age group will be awarded prizes and ribbons.

Adults participating in the plein air contest must create their painting on site. There is no entry fee for either contest. Just come out and have fun enjoying the arts. A prize, furnished by Saint Louis Iron Mountain Railway, Jackson Art Group and the Cash Book Journal, will be given for first place in the adult category.

Don't worry about the rain. In this event, children will create art inside a train car and adults will have a tent available to work under. Art supplies for children will be furnished. Adults, please bring your own supplies! Entries for the art contest must be submitted by 3 p.m.
