Heartland Down Syndrome Association has partnered with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis to bring internationally known speakers Patti McVay and Laurie Packl to Cape Girardeau. This training is available to educators, parents and any other interested individuals who want to make a difference in the education and lives of children with special needs. Training is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, at the Regional Professional Development Center, 920 Broadway, in Cape Girardeau. Time is 9 am to 3:30 pm.
Patti McVay and Laurie Pachl from Down Syndrome Unites- Championing All Disabilities, will be sharing researched best practices to assure the success of all students in general education. They will be sharing specific processes, tools, and ideas for curriculum planning, positive behavior supports, IEPs, visuals and much more. Every participant, parent and educator will leave with ideas they can implement the next day, and feel empowered to take the steps they know are best for their child or student. Kids are first!! This unique team brings a wealth of information, experience and expertise along with some great fun! REGISTRATION IS $10, which covers the cost of a catered lunch.
