The spirit of giving has been alive and well at Immaculate Conception School in Jackson, Missouri! Students joined together to collect toys and money to support the Jackson Police Department Toy Drive. There were boxes and boxes of toys for children of all ages. The students also had a casual day to raise money to support this event. Students donated a dollar or more in exchange for wearing casual clothing instead of their usual uniforms for one day. The response was incredible. The students raised over $300.00!
Students like Shelby Bauwens said, "It was really great to be able to help so many people!" Kayla Elfrink stated, "If my family was having a hard time at Christmas, I would want for someone to help us out, too."
The Toy Drive really inspired the students to remember the true meaning of the season. They really got into the spirit of giving. Many students feel that this is a tradition that they would like to see Immaculate Conception School continue through the years.
