The Bollinger County Chamber Rising Star Business of the third quarter is Highway 51 Express. Ronald Reagan and Vickie Welker are the owners of this small locally owned convenience store that offers a friendly family atmosphere where fun and enjoyable conversation abound. Hwy. 51 Express LLC has been serving the community and surrounding area for over four years. Reagan says "We leased the store for the first year. After that year Vickie asked if I was going to buy it. I said yes, and she said "Are you crazy?" I guess so. But the reason I wanted to keep Hwy 51 open is because of the people. When you can have a business and see how much everyone enjoys the surroundings that makes it all worthwhile. I believe that we will not take anything with us when we leave this earth; but we will leave a legacy behind of Hwy 51 Express and the memories.
