Southeast HealthPoint Fitness and Rehab earned the 2011 Business of the Year Award from the Jackson Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at the chamber's annual dinner on Jan. 13.
Chamber Executive Director Brian Gerau says HealthPoint and its staff at the Jackson center have been actively involved in chamber activities, ranging from membership drives to hosting business breakfasts and sponsoring the chamber's annual Volunteers luncheon.
HealthPoint -- Jackson Fitness Manager Scott Givens, MPA, ATC, CSCS, HFI, says the center has a long history of civic involvement in the Jackson community, which includes providing athletic training services to the Jackson School District.
"HealthPoint has always been involved with the chamber and the community. This is Jackson's only fully integrated fitness and rehab center," notes Givens. HealthPoint also offers free blood pressure screenings and other health programs which are open to the entire community, he points out.
Southeast assumed ownership and operation of Main Street Fitness in 1995. Since then, HealthPoint Fitness has emphasized fitness programs to foster healthy families. The Jackson facility added physical therapy and rehabilitation services in 2002.
"We become like family to so many of our patients," says HealthPoint Rehab Manager Andrea Marchi, PT, MBA, CSCS. "At HealthPoint, we see ourselves as an integral component of the area's health and wellness."
