Good Samaritan: Donald Bergt

Donald Bergt, of Altenburg, Mo., is a number one good Samaritan. He keeps the sidewalks clean for all the walkers. Just this morning I saw him sweeping the sidewalk where mud had washed on from last week's rains. He picks up cans and litter that others throw out. He even cleans up around vacant houses and buildings. He puts all trash in bags for the trash man to pick up. Because of Don, our city street sides and sidewalks look good. Residents of Altenburg, next time you see Don, tell him thank you or slip him a little cash or a gift certificate to a local eatery. No, Don is not on a city payroll -- he does what he does out of the goodness of his heart. Thank you Don!
