On April 9, 2010 five members from the Girardot Chapter, Cape Girardeau: attended the St. Louis Chapter IAAP Leadership Workshop -- "Leading with Passion, Finding Your Purpose" at Energizer on the Maryville University Campus, St. Louis. Attending were: Rhonda Zeilinger, CPS/CAP, President; Doris Dumey, CPS/CAP, Vice President; Marge Phillips, CPS/CAP, Treasurer; Brenda Glastetter, CPS/CAP, Certification CPS/CAP Service Chair; and Michelle Overbeck, CPS/CAP, Finance and Budget Chair. Also represented were members from St. Louis Chapter, Lindbergh Chapter, St. Charles Chapter and South County Chapter IAAP.
The keynote speaker for the event was Frank Alaniz, Missouri Workforce Regional Liaison, Career Coach, Information Strategist, and Developer from the Missouri Career Centers, St. Louis County. Alaniz presentation, "Social Networks ~ What's the Big Deal" noted thirty three ways to effectively use LinkedIn for business, discussed how and how not to develop a personal profile, and presented tips for building one's network.
Also speaking was JoAnn Digman, CPS and Liz Web, CPS/CAP of St. Louis Chapter. Digman shared information on "IAAP Membership Advantages," while Web spoke on "Presenting with Passion," relating information on presentation styles and tips for visual aids.
