Four local charities received a donation from The Rushing Family Trust on Feb. 10 and 11. Junior Achievement, Jackson R2 School District Foundation, Lutheran Family and Children's Services and the Safe House for Women all received a donation from the proceeds of the 17th annual Captain Woody Rushing Golf Tournament, which was held at Kimbeland Country Club last October. A total of $12,000 will be donated to 12 organizations from the 2015 tournament proceeds.
The Rushing Family Trust was created in memory of Captain Woody and Evelyn Rushing, and works to make a positive difference in the lives of disadvantaged women and children, and others with extraordinary needs.
