The City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department has many fun events for children, adults and families for the fall season. For the remainder of October, all through November, until mid-December, join the fun activities provided.

October

Fall aquatics classes begin Oct. 15 at Central Municipal Pool. No registration is required, and your first aquatics class is free. Swimnastics takes place Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or from 11 a.m. to noon. Aqua Aerobics takes place Monday through Thursday from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Fees for both classes are as follows: residents require a $15 and non-residents require a $19 for twelve classes each.

Classes with a $3.25 daily fee are H20 Boot Camp and Water Zumba. H20 Boot Camp takes place Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Water Zumba takes place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A 12-punch card for these events is $36, and a 24-punch card is $60.

Don't miss out on the Haunted Hall of Horror and Light Fright Night at the A.C. Brase Arena to celebrate Halloween and all its scares. Haunted Hall of Horror will be going on from Oct. 19 to Oct. 31. For specific dates and times on this haunted house and Light Fright Night, visit cityofcape.org/hauntedhall.

The 4-H Exhibit Hall is hosting a Haunted Hall of Horror for S.T.A.R. Program individuals on Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. And on Oct. 26 don't miss Halloween Hoopla at the Shawnee Park Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is for children ages 12 and under.

November

On Nov. 3 the Osage Centre is hosting the Fall Garage Sale and the Moonlight Garage Sale. The Fall Garage Sale is from 8 a.m. to noon, and the Moonlight Garage Sale is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $1, and there will be a lottery drawing.

On Nov. 4 don't miss the Set & Spike Invitational Coed Volleyball Tournament at the Osage Centre. Check-in is at 10 a.m., and the competition starts at 10:30 a.m. This event is for individuals 18 or older.

Don't miss the Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Trip on Nov. 11 and Spaghetti Day at the A.C. Brase Arena on Nov. 14. On Sunday, Nov. 11, the bus will leave for Memphis, Tenn. at noon, and the game starts at 5 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person, and the Grizzlies will be playing Miami Heat. After your return, head to the A.C. Brase Arena on the following Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Spaghetti Day 2012. This event is $6 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12 years old and free for children 4 years and under. The dinner includes spaghetti, mostaccoli, garlic bread, salad, drink, dessert and entertainment.

On Nov. 15 the A. C. Brase Arena will be hosting the Monthly Dance with the band, All Stars, and the S.T.A.R. Program will be hosting a Barnyard Dance at the 4-H Exhibit Hall. The Monthly Dance lasts from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $4 per person, and individuals can enjoy classic music on the big dance floor and socialize with all their friends. The Barnyard Dance is from 6 to 8 p.m. This is event is free and available for all S.T.A.R. Program individuals.

To finalize the November events, check out the Fall Family Festival at the Shawnee Park Center on Nov. 16. This event is from 6 to 8 p.m. and includes a hayride and weenie and marshmallow roast. Each activity is $1.

December

On Dec. 1 enjoy Breakfast with Santa at the Osage Centre from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Fees paid before Dec. 1 are as follows: $5 per child, $8 for two children, $11 for three children and $5 per adult. These fees are due by Nov. 30, and registration on the day of the event is $8 per person. Children can enjoy breakfast with Santa Clause and tell him their Christmas wishes.

Come back to the Osage Centre the next day for the Hot Shot Basketball Contest on Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. Registration is from 12 to 12:45 p.m. This is a free event.

On Dec. 6 the S.T.A.R. Program will be hosting their monthly event Christmas with Friends at the 4-H Exhibit Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. And on Dec. 8 head southeast for the Grand Rivers Kentucky Trip. The bus leaves at 8:30 a.m. from the Osage Centre. All are welcome, and the fee is $50 per person, not including lunch at Mr. Bill's. Watch the matinee showing of "Variety! Christmas Spectacular" at Badgett Playhouse and explore the gift shops and see over 500,000 Christmas lights in the city.

From Dec. 12 to Dec. 15 your children can receive Calls from Santa from 6 to 8 p.m. This is for children ages 2 to 10 years old. To get a call from Santa Clause, fill out the registration form that can be obtained in Parks and Recreation Program Guide that can be picked up at any Parks and Recreation facility, City Hall or downloaded from the City of Cape Girardeau website. The form gives instructions on where to send the registration form.

The final Monthly Dance of the year will be at the A.C. Brase Arena with the Jerry Ford Combo on Dec. 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is $4 per person. Also on Dec. 14 the Osage Centre is hosting a Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This event is for children 2 years or older, and fees are $3 for pre-registered adults and children and $5 on the day of the event.
