Dr. Heather McMillan, assistant professor of Management, specializing in Human Resources at Southeast Missouri State University, spoke to the Girardot Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) Tuesday, February 19.
Dr. McMillan shared the importance of procedure manuals, the reason behind having written procedures and what to include in a manual. Her background in corporate human resources and research interests in work/life balance and HR practitioner advancement allowed Dr McMillan to share both theory and practice with the group. A high energy and entertaining speaker, Dr. McMillan kept the audience involved and thinking, including brainstorming time for items that should be included in the manuals.
The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is an organization for any administrative professional that is seeking professional growth. IAAP is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 28,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide.
