The Alma Schrader Elementary School Choir culminated weeks of practice with a tour around Cape Girardeau on December 15 with performances at Chateau Girardeau, HealthPoint fitness, Schnucks, KFVS12, Cape Public Schools Central Administrative Office and Fitness Plus. On November 19 the choir performed for Santa's arrival at West Park Mall, and on December 2 at the Downtown Cape Open House and the adult luncheon at Bethany Baptist Church, Alma Schrader's business partner. An auditioned choir, the singers meet after school with Music Instructor Rebecca Gentry. "We enjoy getting out in the community to perform and entertain," Gentry, who has 25 years of teaching experience, said. "I'm proud of these students and the dedication they have shown. Each performance is a learning experience, both musically and socially. It's good for the students to sing at different venues and to various types of audiences," she added.
