Devore took a class in cake decorating several years ago and fell in love with the hobby. During her high school junior year she watched a video about classes offered at the Career and Technology Center, and enrolled in the culinary arts program. "I really like the business portion of the program, because I'd like to have my own restaurant someday," she said. "In addition to preparation, presentation and sanitation, we are also learning about menus, staffing, cost of food and making a profit." Devore said all of the classes necessary to earn her associate degree are available at the Career and Technology Center.
