Capetown Assisted and Independent Living by Americare recently received its company's Philosophy Award during the Americare's 2014 Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. Capetown was selected from Americare's 102 Assisted living communities to receive the award based on exemplary quality in all four areas of the company's corporate philosophy: service to residents, service to employees, service to the community, and fiscal responsibility.
According to Morgan Beasley, administrator of Capetown, the award belongs to the entire team at the facility. "We're so proud to be recognized in this way," states Beasley. Americare is a top-notch organization with high standards in every area. We were compared to many other excellent communities and came out on top. That means a lot," she adds.
The Capetown was evaluated using very specific criteria including state survey results, resident/family survey results and other quality indicators. The Philosophy Award is given annually each spring and reflects a community's performance during the prior 12 months. As the award winner, Capetown has earned the right to display the Americare Cup in its lobby for the next year.
Lisa Bishop, Director of Nursing, also contributed to the 1500 hundred hours of community service that leaders of Americare performed in the St. Louis area during a day of service scheduled as part of the meeting. Over 250 Americare employees fanned out to service organizations across Greater St. Louis. Their work included renovating a playground at a local Head Start center, teaching the Junior Achievement curriculum at an underserved elementary school, sorting clothes, school supplies and food at various pantries and shelters and making Easter baskets for children of deployed veterans. While many Americare leaders perform community service in their local towns this was the first time a group effort was coordinated.
"Our company considers a nomination for the Philosophy Award quite an achievement," comments Americare President Clay Crosson. "The community that actually wins the award is simply the best of the best and truly reflects quality that has made Americare a trusted name in eldercare services. We're very proud of Morgan and her team," he adds.
Located at 2857 Cape LaCroix Road, Capetown is a 24 room assisted living community and also has 24 cottages with patio homes located on the property.
