Wayne Bowen, a professor of history, has been promoted to lieutenant colonel in the US Army Reserve. Dr. Bowen, who is also chair of the Department of History at Southeast Missouri State University, currently serves as Provost Marshal for the US Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. A Civil Affairs and Military Police Officer, Bowen's previous assignments include tours in Iraq (2004) and Bosnia (1998), battalion command, company command, battalion executive officer, and Civil Affairs Team Chief. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College.
