The Cape Area Community Foundation will make its first-ever grant awards at 8:15 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at the Themis Gate on Water Street.
Grants totaling $1,000 will be presented to six local nonprofit agencies. The recipients are:
• Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Missouri - $450 for tablets used in the COMET tracking system
• Community Caring Council - $150 for its re-entry assistance program
• Humane Society of SEMO - $100 for its new building project
• Community Counseling Center Foundation - $100 for supplies for clients
• CASA of Southeast Missouri - $100 for advertising costs
• Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts - $100 for supplies for clients
The Cape Area Community Foundation was founded just over a year ago in September 2015 to provide asset and resource development, grantmaking and public leadership for the Cape region.
Community grants are made possible through annual distributions from the CACF’s endowment fund and any additional donations designated for discretionary grantmaking. As the Foundation continues to grow, the amount of funding available for community grantmaking will grow as well.
