The Cape Area Community Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit agencies for the first cycle of community grants since its establishment last year.
Agencies in the Cape Girardeau/Jackson/Scott City area that hold 501(c)3 or equivalent IRS status, such as faith or education institutions, can apply for grants of up to $450.
The deadline for applications is 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. Applications can be filed online at: http://CFO.formstack.com/forms/cape_area_grantmaking.
The Cape Area Community Foundation was founded in August 2015 to provide resource and asset development, community grantmaking and public leadership in its eastern Missouri region. It now holds five funds with assets of about $75,000 as of June 30, 2016.
The board members are: Michelle Jones, Chairman; Craig Bohnsack, Treasurer; Brenda Newbern, Secretary; Norman Glaus, Stan Irwin, Ken Lucy, Dale Rauh, Dana Saverino, and Ed Thompson.
The CACF is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, a regional public charitable foundation. The CFO holds about $253 million in charitable assets for donors, 49 affiliate foundations and about 600 nonprofit partners throughout its 58-county region.
