Schnucks now has a bike rack, thanks to "bike racks for businesses." The program, launched by Commrades student organization at Southeast University, helps businesses obtain a bike rack, at cost, from Cyclewerx, a local bike shop. Commrades' president, Nicole Connoyer, explains, "Cape encourages cycling with 'share-the-road signs,' but when cyclists arrive at a store, they rarely find designated, safe parking for their bike. We'd like to place racks at businesses throughout Cape--any place people dine or shop." Commrades' advisor, Glen Williams, notes that the student organization can even deliver the rack. Businesses that are interested in getting a bike rack can contact Williams at gwilliams@semo.edu or 651-2493.
