I am a 17 year old junior at Jackson High school and shaving my head and with great joy, knowing my small sacrifice can be of great reward for others.

I am stepping out with passion for a cause. I will be participating in the St. Baldrick's event this year.

At a St. Baldrick's event, something amazing happens. People who normally shy away from the very thought of childhood cancer find themselves compelled to support this cause after looking into the face of these brave children who are beaming as their friends and family members proudly display their newly shorn heads. Volunteers and donors see it can be fun to support a serious cause. Young cancer patients and survivors see how many people care. And researchers see St. Baldrick's funds helping to find cures!

"I am doing this is in honor of my little cousin, Rachel Crossett. Rachel was diagnosed with the deadly Neuroblastoma cancer at 3-1/2 years old. Childhood cancer has affected my life in more ways than I will ever be able to explain. I can't think of a better cause to lose my hair. Plus, it will be a good testimony to share. Too many kids get sick, and don't survive this horrible disease. This fundraiser gives us a chance to make a difference.

Well, I'm going bald!"

This event is in St Louis. After I had committed to this they opened one in Cape for April. Perhaps by me sharing this now, others will participate in the future.
