COBDEN, IL - On February 6, 2010, StarView Vineyards is unveiling a newly remodeled art gallery/banquet room and is hosting a reception for three local artists whose work will be on display. Come meet the artists and enjoy complimentary appetizers and entertainment provided by Larry Dillard from 1-5 p.m.
The works that are on display are all for purchase and are unique, one of a kind creations that are reflections of the artists' unique perspective. Juhree Veach, photographer, has on display original photographs and montages of Southern Illinois, florals, architectural details, and abstracts. Her work is captivating and her photos will evoke memories in anyone who has spent anytime in this region or the other areas where she has photographed.
Janet Althoff, mosaic artist, has created numerous wall mosaics of various sized, as well as a life-sized female figure. Her works are whimsical and magical. By using pieces of vintage jewelry, vintage china, porcelain flowers, mirrors, pearls, stained glass, spectrum glass, tiles and found objects, her works are all intricate, unique and are fun conversation pieces that are sure to bring a smile to your face.
Thomas Horn's work is distinct and in many cases made to order. He has recycled the glass from StarView bottles into his largest star that hangs on the barn at StarView Vineyards. Thomas's works are often the centerpieces for gardens as well as indoor spaces. He has fashioned suns, stars and other sculptures out of copper, sheet metal and glass that become focal points of rooms and are conversation pieces for years.
