Dick Brooks, organizer of the event, would like to stress to everyone that 100% of all proceeds raised during this event go directly to area veterans. A fund has been set up at the Veterans' Home in Cape Girardeau to help their residents purchase any items they may need. All a veteran in the home has to do is let the on-site fund manager know he has a need and it is taken care of immediately with no forms to fill out or red tape. Brooks states that in the past, veterans have used this fund to purchase everything from socks to TVs for their rooms.

Other activities scheduled throughout the weekend include a motorcycle ride at 9 a.m. and a POW/MIA ceremony at 11 a.m., both on Saturday, July 20. There will be live music on Friday and Saturday, including local bands, 3rd Wheel and Powder Mill, as well as other activities such as motorcycle games, swimming in Clark's Creek, and different vendors set up with motorcycle related items for sale. Barbecue and other foods will also be available.

Brooks states it's a fun weekend with lots of good food, good times and the chance to meet with other motorcycle enthusiasts, plus it's an opportunity to help our veterans who made the freedom we all enjoy possible. Brooks said in past years, quite a few people who couldn't attend the event have taken the time to stop by the gate to make donations to the cause and to thank the Vietnam Vets for their service.
