The Retired Senior Volunteer Program/Volunteer Intergenerational Center held its Annual Recognition on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Eagles Aeries #3775 in Cape Girardeau. Several in attendance dressed in Mardi Gras attire based on this year's theme. Jason Wray, President and CEO of Creative Edge in Jackson, provided a two-part entertainment for the event.
"This was another successful recognition," says Tina Dohogne-Nations, Executive Director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program/Volunteer Intergenerational Center. "We again went with a new program format where fun, entertainment and great food were part of the event instead of a regimented honor recognition. Laughter and smiles were on the faces of everyone in the room."
The three best dressed winners were awarded at the recognition. They were as follows: First place winners were Kenneth and Viva Pope, second place winner was Nita Brazel and third place winners were the Barlow family. Everyone attending the recognition was asked to fill out a survey on their opinions about the event. Those submitting surveys would be eligible for a drawing at a later date. Howell Rice, RSVP/VIC Advisory Council Member, drew out the winning name, JoAnn Kasten, on Thursday, April 10. Congratulations to all our winners!!
A special thanks to Theresa Robinson of the Eagles Aeries #3775 and a heartfelt thanks to JASON WRAY for making this year's recognition a successful one.
