Let conscience be your guide in voting booth

To the editor:

Are you tired of obstructionists in Congress halting important work from being done because they are under the thumb of women who hate being wives and mothers? The politically correct elitists cry loudly for tolerance, yet they pressure politicians to block judicial nominations for anyone who has ever ruled pro-life. Now they are demanding that a pro-life gynecologist who is lobbying the government to rescind its approval of the dangerous drug RU-486 be disqualified for consideration to a key FDA advisory committee on women's health issues. Dr. W. David Hager is a well-respected physician and researcher who is hardly an extremist.

It is time that we all open our eyes and ears and probe around and find our consciences which we have long buried and vote for common-sense candidates.

If we don't, we may find ourselves like the 21 other world civilizations that died from internal decay. Here are some warning signs to think about. These once great nations regressed through the following sequences: From bondage to spiritual faith to great courage to liberty to abundance to selfishness to complacency to apathy to dependency back to bondage.

Vote for life. Vote for common-sense candidates. Don't be afraid to ask God for the right direction before you walk into the voting booth. We still have the right to pray silently.
