2022 Christmas Program at Guardian Angel School

What a magical night was created at Guardian Angel School in Oran on Thursday, December 15. The students danced to and sang Christmas tunes to a full gym. Under the direction of Mrs Sandi Hulshof, Father Joseph Kelly, and each classroom teacher, the students did a magnificent job with each of the songs that were selected to be performed.

To start the program, every student from Pre-k to 8th grade processed into the gym and took the assigned spot on the risers. Some songs were sung by the entire student body ("Away in a Manger", "Shine a Light for Peace", "Jingle Bell Rock", and "Feliz Navidad"). The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students accompanied the singing of "Away in a Manger", by playing ukuleles and guitars. The 1st & 2nd grade performed "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" with boomwhackers and later danced and sang "The Candy Cane Twist". Father Kelly and the 7th & 8th grade students did a rendition of "Silent Night" with chimes. The Kindergarten class had lots of fun performing "Jingle Bells". The students were turned into reindeer and elves, pulling a sleigh and singing along. The Pre-k students sang and did hand motions for "Baby Jesus". The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders donned sunglasses and danced and sang "Blitzen Boogie".

All the students had a fun time practicing during the weeks preceding the program. Getting to show off their Christmas outfits and performing in front of family and friends was a highlight that night. Everyone had a lot of fun singing, dancing, and playing instruments, and earned a dress down day for the last day before Christmas vacation.
