LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: LIKE TALKING TO EARS THAT DON'T HEAR

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

Dear Editorial Board,

The editorial (Sunday, June 19) on the state of Cape Girardeau Public Schools Board of Education and Superintendent was right on target. They have (ital) assumed the position of power that the community is not willing to yield to them.

"Principals, teachers, staff, students, community members have no right to question the decisions of the superintendent and the board" is the theory upon which they operate. If only the principals and Director of Elementary and Secondary Education were allowed to speak up without reprisal and limitations set on them, then we would know much more about "their" game as it is being played.

Many of us, in the public, have spoken to the "powers" to no avail; "ears that don't hear."
