LETTERS: REPORT UPSETS STUDENTS

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

Dear Editor:

I don't appreciate KVFS-12 giving bad information about the Delta school. It's just as good as Jackson or Cape because we don't have the gangs or as much of the drugs in our school as they do in theirs. Also, I don't think it was right to interview the dropouts of Delta because some of them haven't even passed the eighth grade. Some of the students do care about their education and want to go on to college.

But the two parents that started this are also the ones that had a petition going around Delta trying to get our new principal fired because he had punished our kids. Our new principal has been the best thing that happened to this school this year.

Every school has its ups and downs, and all the TV station wants to do is to show our down side. They used our school to show that the schools needed closed campus.

People might not think that eighth graders care about this stuff, but we do. That's why we're writing this letter. KFVS-12 gave Delta a bad name without telling any of the good points of Delta School.

There were students and teachers at the board meeting that KFVS-12 could have interviewed that cared about our school, and they could have even come during school hours and interviewed the students and teachers. Most of us here at Delta feel the same way.
