LETTERS: METH ADDICTS: ONE DAY AT A TIME

To the editor:

I am responding to the letter from Mark Abbott. He as an addict understands this methamphetamine disease. It was good to hear from someone on my side of the wall.

I use the word "wall" because no one knows what it is like on the other side until he is there. And Mark was definitely there. I made me feel sad for Mark, because he definitely deserved the chance I got to live a normal life without drugs and alcohol.

If Mark gets that chance, he shouldn't even think he can go out into society, because, believe me, it won't work. He should go straight to treatment. And that goes for anyone who has this deadly disease.

I pray to God that this does happen. Coming from an addict, we need all the prayers we can get.

Mark should remember one thing: All we got is a day at a time. My prayers go out to him.
