LETTERS: RESPECT FOR LIFE IS DISAPPEARING

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor:

Thou shalt not kill has been a part of our tradition, and that tradition included not only the aspect of one's life, but, to a degree, respect for personal possessions as well.

Increasingly, many of those so-called values are being pushed aside. Even among youths there are those who promote the old idea of brute force.

With the availability of firearms, if another offends you, it seems easier to eliminate any who may be in one's path. It would appear tragic for humanity to revert to the law of the jungle.
