UNIVERSITY SEEKS HONORS IDEAS

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

Southeast Missouri State University is accepting nominations until Oct. 15 for recipients of honorary doctorates and professional degrees. It is a refreshing approach to a process that it normally handled in-house at most universities.

Southeast awarded its first honorary degree posthumously to Rush H. Limbaugh Sr. last May during commencement. He was a fitting first choice for the degree. Limbaugh died last April at the age of 104 and was one of Missouri's longest practicing attorneys at the time of his death.

Those with a nomination should forward detailed information to Dr. John Hinni at 210 Memorial Hall, Mail Stop 4300, Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, Mo., 63701. This honorary degree program should add luster to the university and build additional fund-raising opportunities as well.
