With a close eye on the needs of the Cape Girardeau Public School District, Foundation Director Amy McDonald works collaboratively with her executive board, district administration and community supporters to provide both extras and essentials to support district success.

Through various fundraising events and community support including the Penguin Party, Tiger Golf Shoot-out, Back-to-School Scavenger Hunt, Farm-to-Fork, Legacy Giving and donor-specific designation, "We have been able to put over $250,000 back into the district," McDonald says.

McDonald continues to work closely with the district to fulfill the needs of students and to stay current with technology. Funds raised in 2019 supported diverse learning opportunities throughout the district, including the inception of Air Force JROTC, various mentoring programs, innovative classroom teaching grants, scholarships and district food programs.
