The Bollinger County Chamber of Commerce Veteran Business of the fourth quarter of 2015 is H&R Block. Odie Lingle purchased the H&R Block Franchise in October 1978. Today he owns and operates the Jackson office and since 1995 has operated a branch office in Marble Hill. Odie graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1973 and spent five years working for the IRS before buying the H&R Block Franchise. Odie is an Enrolled Agent licensed to practice before the IRS and employs seven other tax professionals in his two offices, including two other Enrolled Agents and five Annual Filing Season Program participants. To maintain these credentials with the IRS and to prepare tax returns for H&R Block all of these individuals are required to take a minimum of 18 hours of continuing education each calendar year. The eight tax professionals represent a combined 188 years of tax preparation experience. Cary Rohr, the Tax Advisor in the Marble Hill office, has 12 years of tax preparation experience serving our clients in Bollinger County.
