Hope Children's Home Receives Donation

Todd Rushing, representing The Rushing Family Trust, presents donation to Crissy Mayberry, Executive Director of Hope Children's Home

Hope Children's Home received a $2,900 donation from The Rushing Family Trust on Jan. 15. Hope Children's Home is a not-for-profit children’s home in Jackson that provides emergency shelter for foster children in the Cape Girardeau and surrounding counties. The home provides transitional housing where children can be brought when they are taken into protective custody. Children receive nurturing care, meals, clothing, a warm bed and a full medical, dental and psychological screening while arrangements for an appropriate foster home can be made.

To further its mission of making a positive difference in the lives of disadvantaged women and children and others with extraordinary needs, The Rushing Family Trust holds the Captain Woody Rushing Golf Tournament each year. Proceeds from the 17th annual tournament, held at Kimbeland Country Club last October, made the Hope Children's Home donation possible. A total of $12,000 will be donated to 12 organizations from the 2015 tournament proceeds.
