Shop with a Hero receives near $5000

Keith Green of the Cape Girardeau Police Officers Association Lodge 51 gives a donation of $4800 to Gary Elders, store manager of the Cape Walmart for the Shop with a Hero event on December 8th. Around 150 selected children will receive approximately $100 to spend during the event.

With help from local police and first responders, $4800 was raised in the community to help needy children to shop during the Shop with a Hero event on December 8th. Keith Green of the Cape Girardeau Police Officers Association, Lodge 51 presented the donation to Gary Elders, store manager of the Cape Girardeau Walmart. The goal is to provide each child selected from local schools with at least $100 to shop with a police officer, firefighter, or first responder. At least 150 children are expected to participate in this year's event.
