Goodbye D.C.

This is D.C. (Dad's Cat). Four short years ago, he adopted my parents and from there was adored by many people. On September 8th 2014 he was diagnosed with advanced feline leukemia and his health rapidly declined from there. On September 16th 2014 we had to do what is the hardest thing that a pet owner may ever have to do, we had to have D.C. euthanized. At 11:07am on that day he awoke in God's garden and left a tremendous hole in our lives. Feline leukemia can be prevented. There is a simple blood test and a vaccine with a very good success rate. We never had him tested or vaccinated for this virus and we lost him because of it. I am writing this in hopes that everyone that has a cat, or cats in their families will have them vaccinated as to prevent the loss we have suffered. Please, don't wait... have your veterinarian test and vaccinate your cat as soon as possible.
