Benefactors enhance décor at CJHS Tiger Fieldhouse

When Cape Central Junior High School Athletic Director Terry Kitchen (CHS Class of '70) put the word out to his class mates that Tiger Fieldhouse needed updating, it didn't take long for benefactors to line up to help. Coach Kitchen, at right in the photo, also contacted national and international unions and businesses which benefited from construction projects of the District's 2010 bond issue. They responded generously by supplying state-of-the-art scoreboards, which can be seen in the photo.

Lonnie Lusk, Class of '71 and member of the Cape Noon Optimist Club, at left in the photo, poses with a new Tiger head, painted by local artist Gary West, Class of 1970. It will be hung above the new scoreboard.

"We are so fortunate to have alumni who care about their alma mater and organizations which support us," commented Coach Kitchen.

There are actually two new Tiger-head paintings which will be mounted above the new scoreboards at each end of Tiger Fieldhouse. The scoreboards were contributed and installed through a joint effort of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; St. Louis Chapter of National Electrical Contractors Association; Electrical Connection.org; and Total Electric Inc.
