Resistance Training for Summer

Every summer people are looking to get in-shape or tone up, and these people are usually doing some sort of cardio based exercise program (such as running, biking, walking, etc.). This can get them some results but, when this is paired up with resistance training and a healthy diet the results can be amplified. Resistance Training can help with toning up muscles, and can burn more calories when done correctly for the beach body everyone wants. Resistance Training can be done at a gym or even at your own home, with the correct knowledge and equipment.

According to Tyler Blessing, Owner/Certified Personal Trainer of T-N-T Fitness "When performing cardio exercises most of the calories are burned during the exercise only but, when you perform resistance training calories are used during the training session and afterwards while the body is at rest because, after performing resistance training muscle fibers are still slightly contracting which means that the body is still burning calories." Tyler of T-N-T Fitness also states that "When trying to incorporate resistance training with your exercise regimen, do not forget to include a healthy diet which is a huge component, without a healthy diet you are keeping yourself from achieving your fitness goals. Also, the cardio exercises are still essential to keep variety in your exercise routine. Any exercise program should incorporate resistance training, cardio, followed by stretching, and a healthy diet. "

Incorporating all of the components into your workout regimen may sound complicated or confusing. A certified professional can be beneficial in helping you achieve your goals through a safe and effective exercise program. Always get approval from your physician before performing an exercise routine.
