Asphalt repairs planned in Jackson

Friday, October 12, 2012

Traffic along several Jackson streets will be affected as the city prepares to make asphalt improvements, according to a news release issued by the city. Repairs are scheduled to begin at 7 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17. Roadway improvements will be made along Old Cape Road, North Oak Hill Road, Kidron Street, Shalom Street, Ridge Road and Stoneyledge Drive. The project will also include two new raised crosswalks in the city park and two new drives in Russell Heights Cemetery. Depending on the weather, most of the work is expected to be complete within a month by the city's contractor, ASA Asphalt, Inc. of Advance, Mo. Affected roads will be restricted to one-lane traffic between the hours of 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. Signs will be posted to notify motorists of work in these areas. Residents are asked to be patient and exercise caution around the construction areas. For more information, contact Erica Bogenpohl at (573) 243-2300, ext. 45.
