Chaffee Nursing Center, skilled nursing by Americare recently received its company's Philosophy Award during Americare's 31st annual meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. Chaffee Nursing Center was selected from Americare's skilled nursing facilities to receive the award based on exemplary quality in all four areas of the company's corporate philosophy: service to residents, service to employees, service to the community, and fiscal responsibility.

According to Gail Heisserer, administrator of Chaffee Nursing Center, the award belongs to the entire team at the facility. "We're so proud to be recognized in this way," states Heisserer. Americare is a top-notch organization with high standards in every area. We were compared to many other excellent facilities and came out on top. That means a lot," he adds.

Chaffee Nursing Center was evaluated using very specific criteria including state survey results, resident/family survey results and other quality indicators. The Philosophy Award is given annually each spring and reflects a facility's performance during the prior 12 months. As the award winner, Chaffee Nursing Center has earned the right to display the Americare Cup at its lobby for the next year.

"Our company considers a nomination for the Philosophy Award quite an achievement," comments Americare President Clay Crosson. "The facility that actually wins the award is simply the best of the best and truly reflects quality that has made Americare a trusted name in eldercare services. We're very proud of Gail and her team" he adds.

In addition to the award it received, Chaffee Nursing Center was also elevated to the Presidential level of the company's Honor Club the second year in a row. Communities with Honor Club distinction meet even more-narrow award criteria in each of the four philosophy areas. These communities are seen as the company's top performers. Honor Club communities participate on a corporate advisory committee which researches new technologies and quality improvement initiatives. Honor Club membership runs April to April each year. Only fifteen percent of Americare's communities are Honor Club members.

Located on Highway 77 North in Chaffee, Chaffee Nursing Center is a 72-bed skilled nursing facility licensed by the State of Missouri and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
