Traffic restricted to one lane on Cairo bridge
Tuesday, March 27, 2012
CAIRO, Ill. -- A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the U.S. 51 Ohio River bridge at Cairo starting today. The lane restriction is to allow several sections of guardrail to be repaired and replaced along the bridge deck. Motorists can expect to encounter one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers from approximately 7:30 a.m., to 5:30 p.m., each weekday. Weather permitting, the work should be completed in about a week.
