Jackson Ridge Road storm siren disabled
Sunday, March 25, 2012
A Jackson storm siren on Ridge Road near the intersection of Mansfield Place was struck by lightning and will be out of service for approximately two to three weeks, according to a news release issued by the city Friday. The siren is intended to warn people who are outdoors that a tornado warning has been issued for Cape Girardeau County. The city urges residents to "take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their family and to tune into their radio, television or weather radio for more information, as they may not be able to hear the siren while inside their homes or place of business." For more information, contact the Jackson Fire Department at 243-1010.
