Good Samaritan: Abby Kidd

After shopping in Cape, Tuesday, I prepared to drive back to Sikeston. I started the car and it died, displaying the "check engine' and "battery" lights. This happened 8-9 times as the car crept to the west side of the parking area. (I'm 82, forgot to bring my cellphone and have no knowledge of motors.) I entered Penneys to call someone for help. Abby Kidd was on break and overheard me as a customer for information and asked if I was having car trouble. I explained my problem and she called her dad for suggestions. The answer, a wrecker. Abby even called my insurance agent to ask if a specific business had to be used. Another call to her dad resulted in the arrival of a wrecker. The driver of the wrecker took care of the problem and even followed a few blocks to be sure the car was OK.
